February 17, 2009 Wicked Weasel Saves The World

The Wicked Weasel crew are a bit divided on the issue of anthropogenic global warming. Some think it’s a crock whilst others are frightened to death by the very mention of it. The government reckons it’s a vote winner so they are busy creating a new tax, but every day at Wicked Weasel we do our bit for the planet just by being ourselves.

Bikinis are mostly made from Nylon and other similar petroleum based fibres. The fabric is knitted on machines powered primarily by coal fired power stations. The raw fabric is scoured, dyed and set using large quantities of water and more power. The finished fabric is transported to our factory by ships, planes and trucks all of which burn fossil fuels. We cut and make the bikinis using more electricity and then send them out to you again by plane and truck but this time individually wrapped in plastic and paper bags. There’s a lot of energy used in the process of making and selling bikinis.

Now a Wicked Weasel bikini weighs around half as much as a regular full bum bikini so it uses less nylon, less electricity, less water, less dye, less packaging and less fossil fuels for transportation. A Wicked Weasel bikini also requires less water and detergent to wash, takes up less luggage space and requires less fuel to transport with you on holidays. And when your Wicked Weasel bikini finally gives up after years of service, it takes up less space in your local landfill.

Overall, that adds up to a lot of energy and emissions savings. So when you switch over from your chunky old full bottom swimsuit to a sleek sexy Wicked Weasel bikini, you will be doing your bit to ensure the only things heating up are the boys at the beach.

All of us at Wicked Weasel would like to thank you, our customers, viewers and fans for your enthusiastic support during 2008. Our business remains strong but like so many others we have had to tightened our belt just a little. The positive side of the doom and gloom is that you can be sure we will be working even harder to earn your continued support in 2009.
